UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH (UROP)
The Speech Production Lab collaborates with the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) at the University of Michigan. This program gives undergraduates the opportunity for hands on experience within the diverse research labs at UM.
The Speech Production Lab is also heavily involved in other interests, mainly American students in the study abroad context. Our principal investigators, Drs. Nicholas Henriksen and Lorenzo Garcia-Amaya have ten years of experience working in study abroad programs. Below are two of those programs:
The Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS) at the University of Michigan offers a variety of study abroad programs. Our principal investigators have worked, and will continue to working this summer, with the 6-week Spanish Language, Literature and Culture in Salamanca, Spain.
Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages (IUHPFL) offers a unique study program for high school students to gain language and culture proficiency.
EN NUESTRA LENGUA
The Speech Production Lab also supports En nuestra lengua, a literacy and culture program for Spanish-speaking bilingual children who live in the Ann Arbor area.
If you would like to participate in this great community outreach project, please contact our colleague and program founder, Dr. Teresa Satterfield at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can find more information on the program's website.
